TLS on Forums

Post by rlhelinski »

We should be able to switch 'http' to 'https' so that we don't have to send user names, e-mail addresses and passwords in the clear, but the server does not seem to be configured correctly.

+1
In addition, the certificate uses wrong domain name (*.your-server.de) making it invalid.

I added HTTPS to Wiki subdomain only. Plan to add sertificate to forum in the nearest day or two.

Yes, indeed. I forgot that the domain was wrong.

Thanks for promising to fix this. I have some experience with using https://letsencrypt.org/ Let us know if we can help.

Hello rlhelinski,
As my letsencrypt certificate for our Wiki has expired, I decided to move to Base certificate from hosting provider, and also added one to the forum. So our forum is SSL-covered now. In the future I plan to move main site to this hosting too (as now I use two different hostings for site and forum+wiki), and hope this will simplify SSL management, as certbot will do the job for me.
