[Solved] USB ports not functioning?

Hello,
When I attempt to plug a USB keyboard into the StereoPi nothing happens. I have tried:
- (all these things work fine on other Pi boards, just not the StereoPi)
- multiple keyboards
- different power packs
- different operating systems, thinking maybe USB was disabled for some reason?
- different SD cards
- wiggling / half inserting usb cables, thinking something might not be making contact, pins look fine though
- plugging a USB hub into the StereoPi - it actually lights up so it's getting power, just no data?
There are no errors visible during boot, it just drops me to a flashing login prompt. Making it a little difficult to set up.
Am I doing something really silly here?
Any ideas on what I should look for or how to debug this further?
Edit: ~I also noticed that flicking the power switch has no impact, it's always on in any position.~ Power switch works fine when powered by a 5v power brick, not USB.
Edit: I also just noticed the ethernet lights don't turn on when plugging a cable in (works on other Pis). Is there something that controls Ethernet / USB that could be busted?
Thanks!
Dave
