hey there, I love the idea of StereoPi and I'm about to order my own v2 Kit soon.
Before I'm starting to build a special rail construction, one important question is:
is it with given hardware possible to get a variable baseline with max. 1 meter (between both cameras)?
cheers, pat

Re: variable baseline
Hi stereospatrick,
To get 1 meter baseline you have to use a couple of 50cm ribbon cables. You c an find them at any Raspberry-related store.
In our experiments we were able to use 2m (two meters) ribbon cables, but this is a bit tricky. With this length of the ribbon cable it gets a lot of radio-emission noise, which breaks the data transfer. As a fix we used metal tape (grounded) to do a protective shield for each ribbon cable.
As for 50cm - I guess it should work wihtout additional isolation (untill you are working near powerfull radio-emissing equipment like WiFi router or cellular base stations).
