POE module

Post by ArtsNRG »

Hi,

I was wondering what the power specification of the POE module is.
I noticed a FA2924-AL coilcraft 2029J in the small movie about installing the POE module, looks like a 3.3V 4.5A 15W transformer, is that correct?
I would like to run some small stepper motors off it (via a stepper motor controller), and some LED lights. Do you have recommendations for this regarding power draw? Is it possible to upgrade the transformer module in case I would like the 5V version (FA2805-CL) for instance?
Thanks!

Hello ArtsNRG,

Our module is built on si3402-b-gr, and the power output is ~13.5W

Due to the chip shortage (and crazy price for this chip), we have not produced this module.

Our voltage output is 5V, and it can be used separately (with RPi4, for example).

The transformer we used is recommended one for the si3402-b-gr by the chip manufacturer. If you are an advanced electronics engineer, you can try to do this on your own risk, taking into account the schematic specific. As soon as we produce this module, we'll open-source the schematic too.
