Re: Live stream into Skybox on Oculus Go

Looks like I've already added Update description in our Wiki. It is at the end of this section.
So for installing this update with the Skybox player support, you can use this guide.

Re: Support plate mounting hardware

Hi Andy, We did not included nuts and bolts, as each user has his own requirements for setup. We suggested you can choose nuts and bolts according to your setup. That's a slightly bothersome choice. 2.5mm nylon bolts are hard to find near here at less than $1/bolt, and it's going to take a couple o...

Re: wifi dongle

Which brand/model of wifi dongle do you recommend for stereo pi? Hopefully one with a simple installation procedure. Thanks D. Ludwig Hi D. Ludwig, You see, if your WiFi dongle is supported by Raspbian, the only installation you need is to insert it to USB connector. No any drivers needed, as most ...

Re: Oculus Go livestream?

Yea. Let’s do it. I’ll make a quick requirements doc - just to be sure we’re both on the same page about what we want the app to do. Then I’ll share it with you and the developer. Could you please do it in Google Docs for collaborative editing? UPD> you can send me a link to my forum nickname @gmai...

Re: Oculus Go livestream?

I put in a request for bids on upwork.com. Received two believable bids for $1,500. One of them is a group from Ukraine. I've invited that group from the Ukraine to view this forum and the StereoPi project. They're proposing that the project be built in Unity 3d - which I think is a good choice. Th...

I see you used Hugin panoramic image stitcher for stitched video. Is this possible to stream to the Oculus Go so you can have full vision all around?
We did not played with 360 video yet, but plan to do it later. Hugin is intended for photo processing only.

Re: Oculus Go livestream?

Hi all, I think i was able to side load the StereoPi.apk to my Oculus Go - it is now showing up in the Unknown Sources menu. When i launch the app on the Go tho it is just a black screen. I presume it is a connection problem to the StereoPi. 1. is it a usb connection to the StereoPi? 2. did i miss ...

Regarding the protective film, I may in the future cut the mount in half and then attach the halves on something to mimic focusing eye movements. It is easier to protect the finish with the film.
Thank you for your answer! My curiosity is satisfied! :)

Re: 3d cam with mobile phone as viewfinder and controller

Upon boot the SLP image reformats the FAT32 partition and deletes all recordings. To avoid this I had to comment out a statement in /etc/rc-local. Hmmm... Before formatting, system checks if it is any FAT32 partition, and should not format or delete anything if partition exists. Our setups has a hu...

Re: use full width of cameras in SLP image?

The full "field of view" of both cams is not used in the livestream image. I tried setting width=2560 (being 2 times 1280) in stereopi.conf but got no image in the web interface. If I set the stereomode to 2D I can see that the effective fov of one camera is wider than displayed in the videostream....

Re: Cameras not affixed to PCB, connector damaged

I am not from StereoPi, but I noticed a white removable piece of tape that would allow you to firmly fix the camera in place once removed. It was at the back of the lens. Instead of firmly planting them, and to allow for future alignment adjustments I used some handy tack to seat the lenses. A part...

Re: Cameras not affixed to PCB, connector damaged

I just assembled my backer kit, and noticed two things. 1) The camera cable connector on the StereoPi board nearest the power connector was broken, in that the retainer on one end of the fixator was damaged. This was not a show stopper, and I was able to insert and clamp the cable adequately. grk, ...

We did not mounted StereoPi outdoor, so can not help you with enclosure advice. But our Sergey @Gol has indoor-mounted camera looking at the street. It works 24x7, with auto settings, and we have no problems you mentioned in your link to Pi forum. But we use only stock Raspbian and native raspivid/r...

Re: Voltage changes, CM1 vs. CM3+

Very confused on this wording: On the DIY Ninjas page at https://wiki.stereopi.com/index.php?title=DIY_Ninjas_Section The power jumper info states the following (emphasis mine): Compute Module 1 needs 5V power for VBAT, and CM3/CM3+ needs 3.3V VBAT. By default StereoPi is tuned to provide 5V voltag...
