Re: Help! Naked Stereo pi with cm3+ 32G; Impossible to setup?
Hi Lincoln, As I understand, when you are turning on your USB Gadget mode, you have no access to Raspberry OS to make changes. As described in the article, if you switch this secret USB mode, our onboard Ethernet and USB are turned off. I.e. your Edimax dongle won’t work in this case. Here are some ...

Re: Idea : stereoscopic camera person counter
Fruitjog, yep, there are a lot of commercial solutions, based on stereoscopic vision. They are doing their job fine, but all of them are not hacker-friendly and using a closed commercial hardware/software. So if you are looking for a commercial solution - it's a good way to look at them. But if you ...

Hi Mango, Short answers: 1. You can use a desktop-like environment. Use stock RaspiOS, and just add dt-blob.bin (as described in Wiki) to enable 2 cameras. In this case, you can work like with the desktop computer. 2. Take a look at this post about the physical button to take photos You also say "st...

Wow, Rigsson, what a brutal bullet-proof design!
I'm curious, what is the use case for this extra-robust design?

Hi Alex, Settings in the stereopi.conf file are defaults and used by the system right after the boot. When you are changing them using Admin panel, the last settings are saved to this file. It is better to use the Admin panel for the first experiments. If you need to do some specific settings, you c...

Hi Frivy, To say briefly, StereoPi is compatible with all Raspberry Pi compatible cameras. So you can try to find Pi camera with the features you need. As for the twisted pair style - I was not able to find any Pi-compatible flexible cable ( like this one for Mobius ). You can try to DIY this cable,...

Hello kuehfuss,
If everything goes well, we'll start our campaign within a couple of weeks, and the target shipping time is the mid or end of March.

Re: Custom lens shading with stereopi
Hello austinbingham, To start with, we didn't plaid with this option at the StewreoPi. I have a shading fix experience a lot of years ago with ov2643 (and not with Pi, but with TI DM365). As I remember, this table can be written to the sensor itself while initialization. I don't know how it works at...

Re: Images acquisition and storing + EKF with stereopi
Hi Oznerol, Points 1 and 3 from your list are doable with no issues. But point 2 (thermal images by USB) is a problem. WIth native (CSI-2) cameras we have extra-fast and controllable data exchange with the cameras, as data goes directly to the GPU memory in a very optimized manner. But for USB you w...

Re: synchronized Full-Res (12Mpx) Still image with HQcamera
Hi Lucabu, As Stereomaton mentioned, you can capture 2 images at the same time. We have a few similar posts on our forum. The actual difference between the captures at this resolution might be up to a few milliseconds under some conditions, but we were not able to measure it in our experiments (the ...

Re: StereoPi works too slowly
Hello Ekhan, TeamViewer needs a lot of resources for the video encoding. Also, it does 256-bit encryption for the all video transmitted. I don't know how TeamViewer is encoding video, but it has only 2 ways - either use GPU encoder or CPU. In both cases it affects greatly on the global system perfor...

Could you please write me an email to my nickname @gmail.com? I think that the board replacement is a good solution here.

Re: Board detects only 1 camera
Hello Stnz,
Our experience says, that in 97% cases this problem means a physical connection issue (i.e. camera ribbon cable issue, or a "Sunny" connector on the camera PCN).
Could you please tell us:
1. Which camera model you are using?
2. What is the result of this command:

Hi Angelterra,
If you are talking about image capture for the processing (OpenCV or another approach), you can find some test results in this article in our blog.
Could you please clarify - are you need to get a photo sequence or a video?

Re: Board detects only 1 camera
Hi season2episode3, Wow, it's a pity you have this trouble with your board. Am I got you right, that after swapping cameras, you can get an image, but from the single CSI connector only? Please also look into the non-working connector, as sometimes a small dust or piece of plastic causing this issue...
