Re: raspbian bullseye and stereomode

Hey neaveeng, You might have two issues under the hood here. The first is a hardware unsync, and the second is a software unsync due to independent thread processing for each image. As for the first issue - it depends on which cameras you use. For HQ cams, this can be done relatively quickly (but on...

Re: How to detect focus using HQ cam

Hi, mr.burns and Stereomaton, I didn't find any easy solution to detect the focus right now. I usually use the PC browser with the camera live view size big enough to set the focus for both lenses of HQ cams and fix them in this position. My only experiment a year ago with real-time "focus quality d...

Hi Taki,

Well, I have to check your way of fixing issues.

If this vacation trick proves its stability, I will add this to the Wiki! ;-)

Re: Video playback? speed problems

Hi Gábor,

Thank you for the details!

I will be pleased if you can record a tiny test video (like 10 seconds) and share it with me for analysis. I'm curious to find the issue!

Re: Autofocus camera

Hi Gábor, If I understand correctly, if an alternative camera is compatible with raspberry pi cm4 without any additional driver, than there is a high chance that i can use it with SLP2? Yes, it is. Regarding autofocus, then I assume it is best to wait until raspberry libcamera is capable of af. It w...

Re: Autofocus camera

Wow, it's a nice trick with two phones! :-) As for the autofocus cameras - let me explain how our system works under the hood. Our ready-to-use image (SLP2) is built on the base of a previous video subsystem (MMAL/raspivid/raspistill). This approach allows us to work with all the regular Rbi-compati...

Re: Video playback? speed problems

Hello Gábor, This usually happens when you are trying to play the raw h264 video, but not the video packed to the container (like mp4). Could you please share your video settings with me? The resolution, frame rate, and video format. Also, could you please clarify the version of the SLP2 you are usi...

Re: raspbian bullseye and stereomode

Hey neaveeng,

Things are moving slowly... I'm still trying to find the combination of picamera1/2 and lib camera to get a stable result.

Hello BobbyBadBoy,

Thank you for the detailed reply! I hope you'll get your replacement package soon! :-)

I'll remaster the AnyCase page to clarify the supported versions of cameras and StereoPi. Thank you very much!

Re: CM4lite modul doesn't boot.

Uh, okay, thank you very much for the details!

I guess you have no other board compatible with CM4 to test your CM4 module, so let's conciderer our tests as finished.

Could you please write me an email to [my_nickname]@gmail.com, and I'll manage out the replacement delivery for you.

Re: CM4lite modul doesn't boot.

RainerMohrlok, I just try to exclude possible issues to understand the problem. Since all StereoPi have been tested on the factory, I have two last ideas to check: - micro SD casrd. The card can be damaged or OS image might be written wrongly. That's why I asked you to try the boot with another micr...

Re: CM4lite modul doesn't boot.

Your setup looks correct to me.

Is this state stays the same with both micro SD cards from the kit? Coud you please try to boot it with another card. This might be the micro SD imaging process issue (on the factory).

Re: Any Case Kit False/misleading advertising?

Hey BobbyBadBoy, Wow, sorry for this mislead. AnyCase kit has been developed for the V1 StereoPi board. I didn't spor that V1 and V2 cameras mention can lead you to the wrong direction. What I'm going to do: 1. Please write me an email to [my_nickname]@gmail.com with your address. I'll send you a se...

Re: VR Camera Live Stream Super Low Latency Setup

Hello carletonustudent, To do this project you'll need to do two main steps: 1. Assemble the kit and test the stream to the Oculus Quest 2. We have an application for this helmet and a special SLP2 RaspiOS image, which can stream to Oculus out of the box. 2. The next step is to create a connection o...

Re: raspbian bullseye and stereomode

I've played with Picamera 2 today. Well, it's working in some cases, but I wasn't able to get the stable stream from both cams at the same time. After digging I localized the issue using on of the simplest examples, and opened an issue on GitHub . While they are fixing this, I'm going to play with t...

Hi GrahamF,

We didn't design this part of the enclosure yet. If you wish to design it by your own, you might need some extra drawings of HQ set. We've uploaded some drawings of Metal HQ housing and acrylic backplate today to our Wiki / StereoPi v2 mechanics. I hope this helps! :-)

Re: New CM3 Flash - not detecting one camera

If you have a perfectly working setup and need to troubleshoot another setup, I recommend to do three steps: 1. Take the micro SD from the working setup and back it up by creating IMG file. THis can help you in the future as a "reference" image, which was proven to work. 2. Create a copy ot this mic...

Re: What metadata is needed for OpenCV to create stereo depth map?

Stereomaton, thank you for the detailed answer!

I'd add that as a result of your steps 2 and 3 OpenCV actually ends with a simple triangle calculations, and the idea of this approach is greatly described in this OpenCV guide.
