Re: StereoPi V2 Depth Map
Could you please share the pair of calibrated images used for the depth map on your picture? I've quickly checked your image, and I see that your left and right images are correct; the left is left, and right is right (no swap), and I can see a 3D image from your photo. I see that there are a lot of...

Re: StereoPi V2 Depth Map
Hello, Here are some quick tips based on your text and photo: 1. Please use 5_dm_tune.py to adjust the depth map parameters 2. It's better to do on an external monitor but not on the built-in screen :-) 3. When you're tuning the depth map, please have a few objects at close distance (30-40 cm), and ...

Re: mmal problems and supported=2 detected=0, libcamera interfaces=2
Okay, here are a few simple steps:
1. Using the link I've provided, please download the file "OpenCV_Buster..."
2. Insert SD card to your pc, and, using Balena Etcher software, write this image to the SD card
3. Insert this card to your StereoPi. Enjoy!

It looks like you're using the fresh RaspiOS, which does not have the MMAL/raspivid/raspistill video stack.
The easiest way is to get the ready-to-use OpenCV image here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/nzr90vj8wp1l3/SLP

Re: mmal problems and supported=2 detected=0, libcamera interfaces=2
It's either the camera ribbon cable connection issue, or GPU memory settings. If you're using our OpenCV image, memory settings should be fine. Could you please run these commands in the terminal one by one and share the results: raspivid -cs 0 raspivid -cs 1 upd> If you altered test.py with your ow...

Re: Setting custom camera aspect ratio to match displays
I meant to update this last night when I was actually home and had access to everything, so apologies for no pictures. Long story short, it works! Ready to burn the next bridge as I cross it haha. Congrats! :-) As for other settings in SLP2, remember you can adjust most of the parameters in the adm...

Re: Removing the bayer filter for UV photography
Uh, I guess it's a pro photography scope, and I'm an amateur here :-) The guys from the article make scientific things, so even removing the original Bayer filter was extremely expensive. I can't provide the exact model or source of inexpensive filters, but your link is interesting. I can only add t...

Re: What is the best current OS image for the original V1 board?
Hi Graham, We keep the latest RpiOS with MMAL stack updated, so you can follow the guides with the same environment. The latest updated images are here here . It's better to use the latest images, since old ones might misbehave (for example, with the latest CM4 firmware). For all these years, libcam...

Hello NotPorgu, I see both IPS and HDMI screens have the same issue (bars), AND these bars are not colored or messy. I gues your HDMI timings are correct, and maybe the original image does not fit the screen. Could you please tell me: 1. Which version of the software you are using? 2. What are the c...

The latest settings are: hdmi_timings=2880 0 50 8 15 1440 0 8 2 6 0 0 0 60 0 256921800 3 And here is the EDID info for this screen; it can help with the settings in the future: EDID: 2880x1440p hfp:50 hs:8 hbp:15 vfp:8 vs:2 vbp:6 pixel clock:257 MHz Screen rotation can definitely work here, but plea...

Re: Bottom-bottom camera orientation
Hi taa1, In your case one camera is rotated 90 clockwise, and another is 90 counterclockwise. It's tough to process this on the StereoPi side. In one of our experiments , we needed to rotate both cameras to the same direction, so "-rot 90" key can help. It's easier to manage this on the receiving si...

Re: StereoPi v2.02 (Slim) endlessly reboots on CM4 Lite
Hello DaAuron,
All the latest CM4 get the newer firmware version, which was incompatible with the software in our stock images.
Now, both SLP and OpenCV images have been updated and should work out-of-the-box.
We've also updated WIki links to images and update files.

Hello ashchu,
It looks like your StereoPi power circuit might be damaged. It's a rare thing, but it happens. Could you please write an email to [email protected]? We'll proceed with the replacement.

Re: StereoPI ethernet connection to a raspberry pi 4B
You need to set a static IP address and network parameters for the direct Ethernet connection. If you're using SLP, please check the cosmostreamer.conf file. You can set static Ethernet parameters there instead of DHCP.

Re: Distance between Lenses?
The "default" distance is 65 mm since it's the average distance between humans' retinas.
You can adapt this to your task. The bigger the distance, the better results you have for far objects, but closer objects won't be detected on the depth map correctly.
