Stereomaton, thank you for your answer!
atrunyan, I'm curious why do you need two independent video files to get the disparity map, but not the single side-by-side file. What's the aim of the project?

Re: CM1 with StereoPi v0.9 gets stuck in rainbow screen during bootup
Hi HelplessPineapple, I just got tested SteroPi V1 with the CM1 (with the R15-R17 modification). I used the latest Bullseye Lite image - it boots fine. I also tried to use Bullseye Desktop, but CM1's eMMC size is too small to fit the full image. I forced to record it, but the boot fails at some poin...

Re: CM1 with StereoPi v0.9 gets stuck in rainbow screen during bootup
Do you have any idea what could be causing this behaviour? Could it be an unstable 3.3V or 1.8V power supply during bootup? At the boot time the power consumption can jump, right. I guess this old trick (boot delay) was used for this purpose. I.e. this delay pushes another consumption peak (eMMC ag...

Re: CM1 with StereoPi v0.9 gets stuck in rainbow screen during bootup
wow, HelplessPineapple, your case looks more and more interesting :-) Am I got you right, that: 1. Your second CM1 with the very old OS was able to run succesfully on the StereoPi 2. After reflashing 2nd CM1 with the newer OS, it stop booting too 3. Both 1st and 2nd CM1 are able to boot succesfully ...

Re: CM1 with StereoPi v0.9 gets stuck in rainbow screen during bootup
Hi HelplessPineapple, If CM1 is working fine on RPF's IO board - looks like it's alive. The R15/R17 switching just connects another output from the DC-DC chip ( schematic ) to the CM's VBAT pins. I don't think that 5V powering of CM1 would damage LM26420. Could you please check a few things: 1. The ...

Re: raspivid exe on SLP image
Oddbloke, raspivid supports stereoscopic (dual camera) mode out-of-the-box. It combines two frames into one single image. The only issue for us was the lack of this combined image preview on HDMI, that's why we did this minor patch. :-) if you add "-3d" key to the raspivid, it will capture stereosco...

Re: raspivid exe on SLP image
We didn't publish this, since it's very special (and not optimal for all usecases). Our suggestion of adding this to the main app on the github was rejected by Raspberry team, but you can find this issue discussion in this topic on the Raspberry forum.

Re: Customization of HDMI output modes on SLP image
Hi glowingskull , Raspberry Pi's H264 encoder has a limit for the resolution it can encode (~1920x1080). Macroblock is internal term used in H264 encoding. WHen you are trying to set higher resolution, MMAL is trying to increase the H264 encoding level to 4.2 (to support more macroblocks) but fails....

Re: A physical button to take photos
Hello Lukas,
You see, this button option request was so popular for SLP1, that SLP2 has this feature out-of-the box. You can find settings here in the Wiki. And in this Wiki section you can find some more details on button's connection.

Re: raspivid exe on SLP image
Hi Kris,
We are using the modified version, which supports the stereoscopic output to the HDMI. The "stock" raspivid has no this option.
raspivid is built on MMAL subsystem. It's good and polished, but now it is being replaced with libcamera-x libs (starting from Bullseye RaspiOS).

Hello Jlv, All boards are produced in China, and kits are assembled in the USA and Canada. There are no new trade war issues (afaik) between the USA and China, so we can consider this as a "normal" time. Crowd Supply / Mouser warehouse should have enough boards at this moment. And more Camera Kits w...

Re: Calculation the area in a given shape
Hi Yhajaj,
If you can put the reference object to the photo (for the single-image approach).
For the stereoscopic approach you just need to calibrate the camera appropiately. You can build the pointcloud, and get the real 3d coordinates of each "corner" on the image to estimate their size.

Hey Sencis, 1. According to your first image, youer left and right images are swapped, or you are using the inverses colorizing pattern. With the defaul settings red color means nearby objects, and the dark blue means far objects. Please check this. 2. You can find that the building borders, as well...

Re: IMX219-83 Stereo Camera Waveshare
Hey stoffel61,
It just works, no special updates here.
I also found that the plastic base for the optics used on IMX219-83 is physically compatible with a few other Waveshare M12 cameras. I.e., you can swap them using just 2 screws on the back side of the camera.

Re: How to shutdown StereoPi
Hello srathinagiri, 1. The first methid is a software shutdown. You can use any command like "sudo poweroff" or shutdown. 2. The second method is hardware poweroff. We have a special jumper (marked as a "Power switch pins" at this diagram ). Or you can just disconnect the power cable. If you are pla...

Re: POE module
Hello ArtsNRG, Our module is built on si3402-b-gr, and the power output is ~13.5W Due to the chip shortage (and crazy price for this chip), we have not produced this module. Our voltage output is 5V, and it can be used separately (with RPi4, for example). The transformer we used is recommended one f...

Hi David,
Yes, we have had some filters issues caused by the plastic bags.
Could you please send me more details (where you bought the kits, date, and the delivery address) to my email, and I'll manage the replacement shipment for you!
