Re: Port to Oculus Quest

Hi Stansky, Current status: 1. We have a beta version for Oculus Quest, Based on Unity, supports MJPEG only at this moment. 2. We are trying to fix our Go application to run on Quest. We are looking al ALVR solution as an example, as they have a working app for Quest, and under the hood, they are us...

This issue is similar to this one: https://github.com/Seeed-Studio/Seeed_P ... x/issues/7
As we have a few I2C buses initialized on the StereoPi, you might try to select the one you are planning to use in "self.bus = Bus()"

Re: building 3D mesh

Hi Oliver, AFAIK, high-resolution photogrammetry requires A LOT of computational power (i.e. a powerful desktop system). Your basic approach (to save the photos for reprocessing in third-party software) can be done without any issues. You can either do a sequence of the high-resolution photos (like ...

Re: 3D world coordinates from stereo calibration

Hi Latif and Stereomaton, Stereomaton, thank you for your reply! Latif, it will be easier for me to use the same data you are using, to compare our results step-by-step. Can you please share your set of calibration images? I will try to follow all your steps from the very beginning. You can share a ...

Re: Continuous Capture in the Background

Fraserbarton, I can't say what is more appropriate in your case. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert in multiprocessing... Ideally, you should find a bidirectional way to exchange data between two processes. If you don't need a low-latency, real-time data exchange, you can try a "noob" idea and use a f...

Re: Getting Real Distance

We have a lot of related questions for the real world coordinates. I'm planning to update our Gthub code, but will be able to do it in a few weeks only. To simplify your first experiments, I'm attaching a test code from one of our current projects. You will find two sections here, which might help y...

Re: Stereo_Camera Calibration error

Hi Latif and Stereomaton,
Latif, the real world distance (and related "pointcloud" term) has been discussed here.
To say briefly, your poor Z coordinates are caused by absence of /16.0.

Re: Continuous Capture in the Background

Hello Fraserbaton and Stereomaton,
Please let me jump into your discussion :-)
In my point 1 of this answer, I attached a multithreaded Python code for the capture_continuous, and also added a link to the original related work at Pyimagesearch. Can this help you?..

Re: StereoPi max resolution

ciltatarza, you wrote "I need to quality images so i set to use_video_port=False." This is the key point here. In this mode (actually "still image mode"), GPU does A LOT of image improvements (like noise cancellation, color adjustments etc.). So this mode can't be used for the fast frames capture, e...

Hi WaldoPepper,
I see you did a lot of troubleshooting, and already excluded all obvious issues (like bad micro SD, wrong power source, bad CM3+ connection, etc.). Let me suggest you a replacement. I wrote you an email, please answer. :-)

Re: Outdoor Camera Mounting

Hi tracer55, In the StereoPi software (specific SLP image) we are using native RaspiOS camera-related features. I.e. raspivid tool, but not v4l2. BTW, as I know the latest V4L2 use MMAL under the hood and interact with the camera the same way as raspivid . We prefer to use this as we have many more ...

jonititan, which settings are you using for the video recording?
Also, JFYI, we are planning to start beta-tests of our updated SLP image soon. The Video recording part was fully rewritten, and this issue should be solved.

Re: StereoPi max resolution

Hi ciltatarza,
Could you please tell us more details?
Are you plan to capture these images by Python for further processing? Or you are trying to record this video using SLP image and create a video file?
Which cameras you are using? (v1/v2/HQ?)

Re: Disparity Map Quality

Hi kaanyvz, The first issue I see is a poor calibration quality. After rectification, straight lines on your photos became not straight. I attach your image with two red lines, which shows that the straight shelves on the wall became bent. It is better to get fina c calibration first, and tune the d...
