Re: StereoPi Not Booting

Hello Asaeed, All StereoPi passed functional tests at the factory. It means that your StereoPi has been tested with inserted Compute Module, micro SD card, USB device and Ethernet cable. So I hope in your case it is assembly issue, and it is everything Ok with your hardware. Let's check it together....

Re: 7'' waveshare lcd hat

Actually we have dt-blob.bin file in a /boot partition, which redefines some pins for the second camera support. To test a conflict hypothesis, can you please rename this file to, say, “dt-blob1.bin”, and do your test again? If it will start working, we’ll need to do a pin definition analysis to fin...

Re: Oculus Go livestream?

Hi I'm also looking for streaming solution for Go - i need to stream a local 360 4k cam with RTSP server builtin! Maybe you can suggest simple solution? RTSP will give you a big lag with your video (up to several seconds), so we're not considering RTSP approach for Go, but for non-real-time livestr...

Re: I’ve built a telepresence robot using Stereo Pi

Thanks for the advice. I don't have any articles elsewhere yet. I'm going to create a company, and this is my very first prototype. The total cost was around 2k. Also, the shoulder should've had two more degrees of freedom, at least code and mechanics allowed, so I would pick up a bottle of water a...

Re: Blinky Box

Really cool! Are you planning to do a blog for your project? It is really interesting! I've added a link to this forum thread in our upcoming Crowd Supply update. Also, as an idea, you can write a Field Report about your project and post it on Crowd Supply. By the way, if you do it in December, Crow...

Yes, Angelyn, please share your results! If you will have any questions - please ask it here. I will add all information from our discussion to upcoming article, and hope it will be useful for other StereoPi users too.

Re: Getting Actual Distance Data (in cm) from Depth Map

Hi Angelyn, Actually I planned to cover this question in upcoming second part of my " StereoPi Fisheye robot " article. I will do it later, but most of the code you need already published in my Github repo . Key points for you: 1. Connecting the real world with the calculated world First step for "c...

Re: I’ve built a telepresence robot using Stereo Pi

Hi Vadym, Your project looks great! Could you please share more details for us? If you have hackaday or hackster project page, or your blog - please share! Also I'd like to say that you are too modest in your project presentation. Under "telepresence" I usually understand a small wheel robot with 1 ...

Re: Colour Filtering Live Stream

I got your idea and agree, that it is possible to achieve similar results.
As 6by9 answered on RPi forum, camera sensor color channels sensitivity is different. So you can increase Blue from 1.0 to higher values to obtain some balance with the dominating Green. :-)

Re: Colour Filtering Live Stream

I've experimented with the AWB settings, suggested by 6by9. Looks like it works. 1. To turn off AWB and use manual blue and red correction you can use this command: raspivid -awb off -awbg 1.0,1.0 -set ("-set" suffix prints current exposure, analogue gain, digital gain and AWB in console) Notice: AW...

Re: Colour Filtering Live Stream

Hi Alan, I've played with -cfx settings. As I understand, these settings accepts a couple of numbers from 0 to 255, where first is U and second is V. So if we set -cfx 0:0 we get this image: And with -cfx 255:255 we have this one: After some analysis and looking at objects with different colors I ca...

Re: 7'' waveshare lcd hat

Hi Tokanawa, I’ve looked into Waveshare Wiki for this screen. The first thing I noticed in your config is that you’re trying to load both dpi24 and vc4-fkms-v3d overlays. It is not good idea, as they may give you hardware conflicts. Second mention is that dpi24 overlay try to rearrange pins, and ang...

website has been moved to another hosting

Today we've moved stereopi.com to another hosting. By the way, we updated and refreshed it a bit :-) So now all our resources (website, Wiki and Forum) are hosted on the same server. I hope this will help to solve an issue, when some users was unable to receive registration confirmation email from o...

Re: ROS preinstalled image

I've just found new fork or raspicam_node for ROS with the stereoscopic support here: https://github.com/UbiquityRobotics/raspicam_node/issues/41#issuecomment-552142081 I plan to test it in a several days. If everything goes well, I can suggest we have "out-of-the-box" StereoPi support in ROS! p.s. ...

Re: GPIO issue

Actually you can use I2C with 2 cams (look at this thread on RPi Forum as an example). If you'll look inside CM datasheet (pages 19 and 20), you may find that I2Cs are potentially available at: GPIO 0, 1 (ALT 0) GPIO 2, 3 (ALT 0) GPIO 28, 29 (ALT 0) GPIO 44, 45 (ALT1 and ALT 2) Also in our dt-blob.d...

Re: Port to Oculus Quest

Has anyone had any success yet? I'm curious as to whether it would work by setting the quest to 3dof mode? I'm unable to test this myself at the moment as I'm currently away but might be worth a try We got Oculus Quest and was trying to solve this task for a week. A lot of new experience, but no su...

Re: ROS preinstalled image
