Re: Vertical Misalignment
Thanks, Eugene. I don't even know what OpenCV is .... afaik I'm using SLP2. I think I have some swatting-up to do. I'm "playing" again. This time with macro. I've made a new camera mount plate and I'm using the original RPi cameras so that I can adjust their positions and also angle them inwards. Bu...

Vertical Misalignment
Can anyone confirm that the only way to fix vertical misalignment of the two images is by adjusting the hardware.
I had thought there was a way to do it in the software but I can't find it.

Re: V2 HQ Housing Assembly Focus issue
Eugene, every time I look at those pictures (and my 6mm lenses do the same thing of course) it seems totally wrong to me to have to unscrew the lens like that simply to achieve the infinity position (and farther still to focus on anything closer). On mine, it looked like it was open about 5mm so I t...

Re: How to connect via WiFi
... but if it's not setup in the router too, doesn't that mean that if the Stereopi is switched off, the router could allocate that ip to something else causing difficulties when the Stereopi is finally connected? In any event, my question was specifically about the ethernet setup and whether it sho...

Re: How to connect via WiFi
srathinagiri - To set up static ip on my system, I connected via ethernet. Then checked the router for device status and identified the stereopi. That gave me the mac address. I then used that to set up a static ip in the router. Still on ethernet, I went to Device-Settings in the Stereopi screen an...

Re: How to connect via WiFi
Realizator, I'm in Canada which, AFAIK, uses the same country settings as the US .... which is the StereoPi2 default isn't it? In any event, I have solved the immediate problem: On my LAN, I have two wireless access points. I tried the alternative access point and the SP2 happily connects to it. Dun...

Re: How to connect via WiFi
This thread seems to have dead-ended but I'm having a somewhat similar problem. I can connect fine when using an ethernet cable. I have set up a static IP in both the StereoPi2 and my router and can connect using that IP. However, when I remove the ethernet cable and reboot, I can no longer connect ...

Re: SP2 HQ Housing Assembly IR Filter Assembly
Thanks, Realizator, I think if you just mention the (US) glue that you used, people could make their own local match.

Re: SP2 HQ Housing Assembly IR Filter Assembly
In the absence of any help, I went ahead and used some LePage "Ultra Gel" Super Glue which seems to have worked quite well. The built-in applicator with this allows you to accurately place a small drop without the use of a toothpick and it worked quite well for me. It may help to use a pair of round...

Re: ir filter.. protective film?
I too noticed what looked like a protective film on my filters. It's my belief though that what we're seeing may be a chemical film picked up from the plastic bags they were packed in .... most likely a release agent (silicone?) used in the manufacture of the bags. Certainly, my filters were clingin...

Re: SP2 HQ Housing Assembly IR Filter Assembly
Any response? I'm referring to the glue needed to install the IR filters in the black carriages. The assembly notes say: "Note: please do not use the cyanoacrylate "one-second" glue! Its condensed vapors can leave traces on the filter. Also, it is too liquid and can stain the filter. The best glue t...

Can you be more specific for the type of glue recommended?

Re: V2 kit assembly questions
The H and V flips didn't help utimately .... I hadn't noticed the rotate. For checking which camera is where, I just put one of the lens caps on and worked with one side .... less confusing. I have I believe fixed the problem by rotating the tft .... see my post in the https://forum.stereopi.com/vie...

Re: Image Upside-down in SLP2
The rotation thing at https://youtu.be/PPkERBPHNAg didn't worked for me (it changed things around but still didn't fix it). For reference, my assembly looks like the one shown in Stereopi-v2-camera-kit-13-5.jpg and Stereopi-v2-camera-kit-13-5.jpg of the "StereoPi V2 Camera Kit Guide". Mechanically f...

Re: V2 kit assembly questions
Thanks Eugene/Realizator.
I did wonder about flipping the screen or lens plate but wasn't sure that would end up with the left camera-image on the left side of the screen and vice-versa. Nice to have it confirmed that it works!

Re: V2 kit assembly questions
I believe I figured out the answer to my first question. The numbers in the drop down box refer (I believe) to the GPIO pin used for the connection. Duh!

Re: V2 kit assembly questions
.... but note that my copy of the StereoPi V2 Quickstart guide claims that SLP2 is marked with a Red sticker and OpenCV with a green one. Realizator's version is correct but be warned. Couple more questions: - When setting up the push-button for the still camera with "Use GPIO as button for Photo Sh...
