Re: Camera control callback cmd=0x4f525245 mmal: No data received from sensor.

Hi pedrojvs,
I'm glad it works for you now!
Looks like it was the connection issue for one of the cameras' ribbon cable.

Re: Camera control callback cmd=0x4f525245 mmal: No data received from sensor.

Hello pedrojvs, In 99% this message means the connection issue. Let's check the connectivity. You might have 1 camera connection issue and 2 cameras issue. The second case usually means wrong camera ribbons orientation. Please check two things: 1. please run "vcgencmd get_camera" If you see "support...

Unfortunately no. Raspivid implements it’s own settings and works with camera without v4l2.

Yes, I'll update the Wiki soon.
As for the libcamera - at least we know it supports hardware h264 encoding :) But MJPEG is not supported yet. While we are waiting for the official stereoscopic support in Bullseye, we try to test all other options we have now.

Re: customize raspistill

amphi, under the hood we are using the Raspberry application for taking photos - raspistill. As I remember, it has no option like you mentioned. For each photo it should do the full cycle of the sensor adjustments, and also a set of post-processing things. The only thing which is close to your aim i...

Re: Saving photos to USB drive

Hi joedevivo, A half of my StereoPis is equipped with eMMC. After the first boot, SLP2 formats all free space on eMMC to FAT32, and images and photos are saved in this partition by default. So it's fine to use eMMC for this. I use onboard file manager for downloading images and videos. As for the US...

Re: "Connection Failed" in browser - Camera-view ok in monitor

Hi Tallman64, If you see 2-camera output on your monitor, it means we can exclude the connectivity issues. 1. Ethernet If you connect StereoPi v2 by ethernet cable to the hub (but nit to the PC directly), it should be visible in the network regardless of the WiFi settings. We always use Ethernet as ...

Re: BEWARE! New Raspberry PI OS version Bullseye may break existing projects

Hello Stéphane, Thank you for your notice! Actually, I have a talk with Gordon Hollingworth from RPF a month ago, and here are some news: 1. RaspiOS Buster now is considered as a candidate to LTS version. LTS means Long Time Support, and expected support range is up to 2026. Since Buster has all fun...

Re: customize raspistill

Can the time interval between the recordings be shortened in any other way? Could you please explain your task? In some cases, it is easier to record a video with low FPS instead of taking images. It depends on your aim. p.s. we are using the '-np' key in raspistill by default (i.e. "no preview"). ...

Re: customize raspistill

Hello amphi, WIth SLP2 we moved a lot of things into the binaries to achieve more speed and save memory. As for the '-t' parameter, in the latest version, it is exposed in the Menu -> Camera setting -> Photo. The default value is 500 (i.e. 0.5 seconds). Please note, that for the overlight conditions...

Re: SLP2 FAQ

We prepared the big update for the SLP2. The updated image is available on our download page under the name beta-version-slp2-0.11.19.zip The size is 850Mb. It is recommended to write the full image to the micro SD card. Key fixes: 1. Kernel updated to fix the "magenta issue" for Sony-based cameras ...

Re: Auxiliary lines in the preview image

Hi Amphi, If you are talking about the HDMI and TFT screen preview - uh, this is a painful story :) You see, in the RPi3 and CM3 epoch it was one version video subsystem, and we were able to draw the advanced OSD data right over the image. WIth the RPi4 and CM4, this subsystem was fully redesigned, ...

Lion XL, could you please try to record SLP2 image on the original card?
I'm trying to understand, is this a micro SD issue, or the supplier's image recording method issue.

Uh, usually 192 is enough.
In my setup I use 256 Mb (as I need it for some extremely specific features). We'll fix the default GPU memory in the next update!

Re: Stereopi v2 as usb device

Hello anu1905, To say briefly you have two ways: 1. The simplest one - use HDMI->USB adaptor In this case, the HDMI capture device (like this one ) captures the StereoPi HDMI output. So this device is visible as a web camera. No settings, no tricks. 2. The most difficult - use USB gadget mode You ca...

Amphi, please write me an email to [mynickname]@gmail.com and I’ll send you the IR filter replacement. Yup, this plast...

I will contact my packing partner and ask them to use a paper bag instead of the plastic bags. Right now I have two things to say: 1. Pl...

Okay, finally we have a fix from the Raspberry Pi Foundation!
"sudo rpi-update" doing the patch we need.
I've tested this on both stock RaspiOS and SLP2.

Re: ir filter.. protective film?

Wow... Usually, we are gluing the IR filters by adding just a tiny drop of the glue (see details on our Wiki ). Also, I know other HQ housing owners were able to glue IR filters with no issues. Since you have 6 IR filters from the kit I guess you have 3 kits, right? In any case, please write me an e...
